Tackling the Tough Terrain: VMI’s Swamp Hoe Amphibious Excavator Rentals

Tackling the Tough Terrain: VMI’s Swamp Hoe Amphibious Excavator Rentals When the job site looks more like a swamp than a construction site, traditional heavy equipment can only go so far. That’s where Swamp Hoe Amphibious Excavators come in, purpose-built to perform in soft terrain, shallow water, and conditions that would stop standard excavators in their tracks. VMI Dredges doesn’t manufacture these machines, but we know their value and that’s why we keep them in our rental fleet. They’re one more way we help customers take on challenging jobs and keep projects moving where others can’t. What Is a Swamp Hoe Amphibious Excavator? A Swamp Hoe Amphibious Excavator is a modified excavator equipped with sealed pontoons and wide tracks, giving it buoyancy and stability on soft or submerged ground. What Is Hydraulic Dredging? A Complete Guide for Industrial and Municipal Projects

What Is Hydraulic Dredging? A Complete Guide for Industrial and Municipal Projects Dredging is an essential process for maintaining waterways, managing sediment, and supporting industrial operations. Among the different dredging methods used today, hydraulic dredging is one of the most widely utilized because of its efficiency and versatility. Understanding how hydraulic dredging works, and when it should be used, can help operators choose the right solution for their projects. Understanding Hydraulic Dredging Hydraulic dredging uses pumps to remove sediment from underwater environments and transport it through pipelines as a slurry mixture of water and solids. The dredging system pulls material through a suction pipe, where it is mixed with water and then pumped to a discharge location. Unlike mechanical dredging methods that rely on buckets or excavators to lift material, hydraulic dredging provides a continuous material removal process, making it highly efficient f...

A huge thank you to everyone who stopped by Booth 1132, checked out the equipment, talked shop, grabbed some swag, and shared ideas with us.

https://youtube.com/shorts/a7HIfe5QbdM?feature=share From the moment the doors opened, the conversations never stopped. We met customers, contractors, operators, industry leaders, and friends from across the country. We talked dredging, talked uptime, and made connections that will carry far beyond the show floor. One thing became clear this week: the dredging industry is full of people who are passionate about what they do, and we're proud to be part of it. A huge thank you to everyone who stopped by Booth 1132, checked out the equipment, talked shop, grabbed some swag, and shared ideas with us. Until next time, Nashville. #VMIDredges #ThisIsHowYouDredge #IMX2026 #Dredging #Nashville
